Summer arrives: CSA Week 1
Yay! It’s salad season. Everything is a bit behind after a solid week of rain and chill. It’s slowed the plants down. Here’s hoping our current beautiful sun will get all the veggies back on track.
Our CSA share this week:
Salad Mix 1 1/4 pounds
Bok Choy 2 heads
Kale 1 bunch
Scallions 1 bunch
Parsley 1 bunch
Green Garlic 1 bunch
Head Lettuce 1 head
Grilled chicken, kale chips, salad, couscous
Bok Choy with garlic and ginger (recipe in our CSA newsletter this week), rice
Gnocci with kale and white beans, salad
Homemade pizza, salad
Chicken soup, cheese toasts, salad
Veggie quesadillas with black bean salsa, (you guessed it: salad)
Lemon pasta, salad
What else are we making?
Bread, yogurt, Biscuit Cinnamon Rolls for the Last Day of School, Lemon bars for a meeting, chicken broth
What’s the plan?
We relax for the first two days of summer, and go see my in-law’s new chicks. Then we start our themes next week: Maine Wildlife (I) to kick off! Post coming on this.
This week last year.
I feel like you’re always getting ready to make something that I just ate. Tonight, kale and white bean soup.
We are eating in parallel universes.
Everything looks delicious! Might have to borrow some of those yummy recipes
I would love for you to come and link up to this week’s CSA link party…http://inherchucks.com/2012/06/06/whats-in-the-box-29/. Hope to see you there!
Now that I have a box to link I will definitely join this week’s party.
yay! Thanks
Glad to have you.
